Community Outreach
Our Outreach kaupapa is about breaking down the structural barriers that prevent women especially those from minority and low socio-economic backgrounds. From accessing legal education and imagining themselves in the profession. We’re committed to bridging that gap both within law school and in the communities around us.
Since launching in 2020 with the Outreach Zine, a digital publication sharing the stories of wāhine from low-decile high schools who made it to law school, we’ve continued to grow this mahi. In 2021, we hosted over 150 high school students at the University of Auckland for an inspiring panel featuring Chief Justice Winkelmann, Justices Moala and Cassidy, and other trailblazing legal professionals.
This year, our team has continued that legacy by:
Running a bake sale and clothing drive for Dress for Success NZ
Organising an upcoming in-school presentation for students considering a future in law
Our outreach work is grounded in equity, visibility, and the belief that the legal profession should be open to all - not just the few.
